TT CIRCUIT ASSEN IN NETHERLANDS

The TT Circuit Assen is a large stadium primarily used for motorsport events, such as the annual Dutch TT, attracting over 100,000 spectators. While the events contribute significantly to the local economy and town reputation, residents near the TT Circuit experience considerable noise annoyance. This noise impacts a wide area, especially when carried by the wind. With the number of events increasing and sound barriers proving ineffective, alternative measures became necessary. In response, a covenant was signed in 2011 between the provincial authority, TT Circuit management, local businesses, and residents’ groups to address noise issues and initiate a soundscape study.
